This moment was beautifully ironic if one took a moment to step aside and consider the amount of energy each put into an internal resistance to the other and how that dwelling lead to the inevitable snapping of their built up resistance.

It was a gradual thing, really. Having spent more than enough time on the roof and in the empty class rooms with him, Sasuke had grown accustom to Naruto's banter; both of the appropriate and inappropriate kind. He was used to the too familiar touches, barely bothering to make a protest each time the dobe patted his head, his back... his ass. Ok. The ass pats actually earned the blond retard a hard smack upside the head every time he tried it, but that was a far cry from the stern punch to the face followed by a merciless bludgeoning anyone else would have received.

See, Naruto was harassment embodied to Sasuke and no matter how the Uchiha called HR, the dobe would not go away. Gradually Gradually the defenses wore down like a rock on the beach, sharp edges giving way to the smooth surface of a tumbled stone. So it all became common place between them and because of this, Sasuke didn't see the progression. He was blindsided to the gradual build up, the sexual tension that crackled in the distance between them with an almost tangible electric shock.

With eyes closed sightless to the blond, Sasuke moved through the motions of their friendship until one day it all turned round on him and the blindfold was violently ripped off his eyes. The final step had been taken.

Needy hands grabbed and tugged while the proximity narrowed to zero and tension finally snapped between them -the recoil was dizzying. Sasuke's eyes lowered and he inhaled deeply, bracing himself because there was no turning back now. The two of them had finally crossed the point of no return.
