Why cosplay?

I cosplay because it's fun and because I like the characters. I also like to make costumes and it's something I've been doing for a while now so why not?


How do you pick the characters you cosplay?

Depends on the character. 99% of the time it's because I come to really like a character that I watch/read/play.  There is a small 1% chance that I will do a character because my wife wants me to do it (like Yuna FFX-2), but that's not often. I figure if I'm going to put forth the effort to make an entire costume or more for a character then I at least better like them.


Do you ever cosplay a character you never researched?

No. Anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't know me and is making some mighty assumptions. Even if I'm just doing the character for someone else, I will watch/read/play their story lines through until the end.


Are you a professional?

Oh hell no. Honestly, I would never claim to be a professional unless I went to fashion school.. which I didn't. As I said: this is my hobby, I do it for fun, and I like to share what I do for fun with the rest of you.  If you like it, awesome ! If you don't, that's cool but you know the golden rule "if you don't have anything nice to say..."


Do you think you're All-that-and-a-bag-of-chips?

Uh.. no. Honestly, I feel an abundance of pride is a severe character flaw but this is not to be mistaken with self respect. I agree that I have flaws and my costumes are not perfect by any means. Everything has room for improvement and I always appreciate criticism but I will not stand for trolling. Trolling is disrespectful at best and I wont allow it on my page. There are places for that sort of thing far far from MY personal site and I'd respectfully ask that it stay there.  


Will you block anyone who disagrees with you?

Well no, that would be rude and I really don't believe in being rude to people who don't deserve it. The only time you get blocked is if you're harassing me or being excessive and unnecessarily harsh. The world wouldn't be so wonderfully diverse if everyone agreed all the time, right? Just be polite to me and I will be polite to you . Aka another gold rule applies here: "Treat others how you want to be treated".

Do you hate it when people talk to you at cons in person?

Okay, someone came up to me at a recent convention and mentioned this rumor. To which I responded with "… what?" because.. What? Naru and I really value everyone who manage to say hi to us in person at a con. It takes a lot of courage to come up to people you admire (or what have you) and that should always be reciprocated with positive reception. Sometimes we're really tired or hungry or ADD because it's a CON and, hey, who isn't? But that doesn't mean we don't appreciate it all the same ^_^! So, by all means, come say hi. Despite certain rumors, we're pretty nice people on a whole lol.
