Just got back from Yaoi con and I must say...I need to rename it Awesome-con! lol But seriously, I had one of the best times that I've had at a con in a while. Which is odd because the convention itself wasn't that fantastic (I found myself bored a LOT) however, the company I kept was awesome :3!
We drove up on Thurs with our roommate
and stopped in LA to pick up
along the way who was SO awesome to have around XD!
So we got to the con and actually had time to relax and meet up with a long time friend of mine, Mei, who flew in all the way from Japan just to hang out with Naru and I
!!!
Mei is one of the people responsible for getting me into cosplay in the first place. She is also the same person who got me to cosplay Sasuke for the first time :3! You could say much of my cosplay life is thanks to her.

! Seriously, this cosplay was full of lawls and giggles that none of us could contain because we were all pairing with random members of the group.
Serious mash up XD! And the best part was... we ran into the creators of the comic
in said cosplay.
I was overjoyed to talk to them because they were super super nice and a pleasure to be around :3! I look forward to making more of their work... come... to life. XD
Although I wont even lie when I say that seeing
as Mercutio just made my day.
Friday Night Tiger and Bunny photoshoot - Swim suit edition.
Best photoshoot I have ever had. The lawls never stopped and everyone hung around just to laugh and have a good time. There were pools and pizza and one of our favorite cosplaying photographers of all time
who made everything worth while. Plus... the outfits were just too damn funny to take seriously.
After that it was mostly just us wandering around and hanging out with various people like my awesome lovelies

again.

After we left, though, we left to get changed into casual versions of Bunny and Tiger so that we could run around the con comfortably and avoid the awkward stare downs from hotel staff XD! And to my great surprise, almost all of my friends were crammed into one tiny room holding up a sheet just waiting for us to get in and yell "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!" I nearly cried.
Since it is our 4th wedding anniversary on the 27th of this month, that makes it our Silk and Linen anni. Each one of those flowers and bows were hand made by a different person or couple and brought together at the convention to make up the gift. They all signed them and... yeah. It was so thoughtful and unexpected that I couldn't even handle it. T__T my darlings are so wonderful.
After our thank yous and love fest we changed into casual costumes so that we could go out and venture into the night with everyone! XD

We also decided that since Tiger puts Mayo on everything, EVIL!Tiger puts sriracha on everything. Which is fitting for Ycon cause it's the cock sauce

did a fantastic job of shooting this and I seriously want to thank her for putting up with our derping around.
And, hands down, Mephisto was a fantastic cosplay to do. I enjoy that character so SO very much and can't wait for you guys to see the shoot for it :3!
At some point I changed out of Mephi (the shoes were killing me) in order to get back into Linneus (from Teahouse) so I could make it to their panel on time. That... was not as successful as I wish it had been because it took FOREVER to make the change after the photoshoot. But, I ended up hanging around their table and talking to them for a bit and that made up for all the panel goodness that I missed
!
Saturday Night Lawl. After getting BACK into Mephi I went to the Cosplay Masquerade so that I could cheer on my wife as well as my roommate for their awesome skits
!
and her friend who did Circus Grell and Sebastian from Kuroshitsuji ended up winning an award that night and I was super proud of them
!
After that, Koi and co got together to make a super Lawls video.

Sunday Day Weiss Kreuz
! Yes this may be old school and the Scooby Doo of the anime world BUT I CARE NOT A FIG! This is one of my longest standing obsessions because (as I overheard someone saying once) even when you're not active in the fandom, you'll always be a fan.
and I had talked about doing this cosplay 4-5 years ago and it has been on the back burner ever since. It was what I first cosplayed from when I started seriously cosplaying and we really wanted to do right by the anime and fandom. I knew
was also a fan so I invited her to be our Omi and then all that was left was for the three of us to con Naru into being our KenKen. HAHAHA IT WORKED!
Originally I was going to cosplay Yohji because he's one of my all time favorite characters EVER and
was going to do Aya but... we took a moment to realize the height discrepancies were far too much for us to deal with... so we switched.
Which was just FINE with us because... AyaxYohjixAya is both of our OTP.
I mean... seriously.
Anyway! Mei used to cosplay Shuldig and she happened to bring it along for us while our
did one of the best Farf cosplays I've ever seen. IT WAS SO AWESOME YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW! Actuaylly... you will know because I'll upload pictures and bla bla bla about it for ever.
Yet again,
saved our butts by doing all of our photos. I couldn't thank her enough, this cosplay meant the world to me :3
Sunday Night After all was said and done we packed up and went to a motel where the whole lot of us stayed up until ungodly hours laughing and just enjoying the bit of family that we are. It was wonderful being around everyone and it makes me realize how much I miss you all ALL of the time.
Monday We said our teary goodbyes to everyone and then drove home, exhausted yet happy that we had such a wonderful time with all our friends and family.
So thank you everyone for making this Yaoi con so much fun. The memories will be cherished.
